Sometimes we can feel like things are crumbling around us and we’re falling to pieces. And what we crave in those moments is peace. A sense that all will be alright. We need a foundation that won’t crack when our world around us begins to shake. We long for a stability that transcends circumstances.
Have you ever felt overwhelmed?
Have you ever found yourself swimming within a sea of stress?
Are you there again?
Often we can get caught up in unfolding circumstances that send our world into chaos or confusion. It’s in those moments that the things preying upon our minds and our emotions can send us into a tailspin. So if you’re there…stop the spin and grab hold of another action available. A life-line if you will. A simple reminder of a certainty available amidst the uncertain moments you’re in.
Those who look to God are radiant. He is a deliverer.
He is close to the brokenhearted. (Psalm 34)
Take a breath. Take a moment.
Pray and the things that are preying on you tend to cease their harassment.
God’s promise of His presence is enough to bring stability for your soul, even though the things around you might continue to shake. He is with you. He is for you. He is enough. He is able.
Pray and you might find…
…that you will go from falling to pieces to beginning to sense a peace that surpasses and embraces.
David reminds us in his prayer…
1 Hear, O LORD, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life, for I am devoted to you.
You are my God; save your servant
who trusts in you.
3 Have mercy on me, O Lord,
for I call to you all day long.
4 Bring joy to your servant,
for to you, O Lord,
I lift up my soul.
5 You are forgiving and good, O Lord,
abounding in love to all who call to you.
6 Hear my prayer, O LORD;
listen to my cry for mercy.
7 In the day of my trouble I will call to you,
for you will answer me.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
