Here we are in Easter Week 2012 ~ these are some thoughts to nudge our reflection as we move through this Easter week…
Prayer is a powerful thing. It’s a relational activity. It’s an amazing privilege.
Prayer is often seen as something we engage in toward God – with God. But prayer is more.
In this Easter week we remember the prayer that Jesus prayed over his followers. He prayed for them then. He actually prayed for his followers today.

Jesus prayed for unity.
He prayed that we might know. That we’d know God relationally, not simply to know about God in some informational sense.
“Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” – John 17:1-3
He wanted us to know eternal life. Not just know about it – but to know Him relationally…
That’s the gospel – the good news. That a life-giving relationship with God is available to those who turn toward God. This path was made available through the path Jesus tread that Easter.
