There are so many thoughts, feelings and things that swirl around Easter.
The week before Easter is always a busy time for pastors, but I love it. All week I look forward to celebrating with you. The preparation of the sermon is also one of my favorites because Easter is all about Jesus.
We talk about and point people toward Jesus all year long, of course, but Easter is THE time we give all our attention to the incredible story of His life and His death on the cross for us. That His resurrection not only created a special moment for the church – it changed history for every moment moving forward.
It can change yours. Allow it to refresh you again.
No matter how many times I study the story of Jesus surrounding Easter week, I always learn something new. I’m continually refreshed by the beautiful reality that Easter proclaims for all who are captivated by its truth. We are captured by grace and permanently invited to live as Easter People – everyday.
Do not abandon yourselves to despair: We are the Easter people, and Hallelujah is our song. ~ Pope John Paul II
I’m reminded of pastor Watchman Nee’s words
Our old history ends with the cross; our new history begins with the resurrection. ~ Watchman Nee
I simply can’t wait to talk about Jesus with you this weekend!
And being FOUND changes everything.
