Amazing Grace is the mantra that embraces all those that have embraced the Savior on the Cross.
He was despised and rejected by men;
a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief;
and as one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all. ~Isaiah 53:3-6
He gave up His life so I might discover mine.
He took back up His life, so that I can walk with him through this one and securely into the next.
How do you capture such amazing grace in three words?:
“It is Finished.”
All to me He gave.
All to Him I owe.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. ~John 3:16-17
“We cannot blow by the cross. To comprehend it’s power to free us we must stop and stare. And soak and sob. Then we will shout and sing.” ~Louie Giglio
Jesus had to go through Friday to get to Sunday, so do we.
